Do An – Vietnamese Experience

Do An is a Vietnam restaurant located at Cilandak Town Square (Citos). Usually Vietnam is famously known for their pho bo (beef noodle soup). But that day, I’ve decided to try something different. The waiter recommend me to try the Bun Bo Hue (45k). Bun bo Hue is a popular Vietnamese soup containing rice vermicelli and beef. The dish is admired for its balance of spicy, sour, salty, and sweet flavors and the dominant flavor of lemon grass. The noodle soup was served with a side of bean sprouts, lettuce, chillies, onions, and limes. The Bun bo itself includes thin slices of marinated and boiled beef shank and rice noodles. However, the broth in Bun bo Hue and Pho Bo was quite different. The broth in Bun bo Hue is spicy, can be mildly spicy to extreme spicy. The lemon grass gives a very refreshing scent to the whole dish, plus the shrimp paste underlies all the flavors. I like it…
